EMS-81 Small format full range loudspeaker

Description
The EMS-81 is the smallest enclosure in the EMS series. Multi-purpose is the design intent - consequently the EMS-81 is ideal for theatres, corporate & A/V, nightclub or café infills as well as small-scale front-of-house. The quasi-trapezoid enclosure means it can be used as a compact floor monitor for ultimate flexibility.

Simple and elegant
The EMS-81 is a passive enclosure and does not require a controller. At EM Acoustics we believe it is possible to build passive loudspeakers without compromising sonic quality. Extensive crossover R&D has led to an enclosure that is remarkably free of the time-smearing often associated with passive enclosures.

Construction
The CNC-machined enclosure is manufactured from 15mm (5/8") multi-laminate Finnish birch ply, and contains a high-power 8" vented LF driver and a 1" exit compression driver on a 90H x 60V horn.

Standard features and rigging
Include a 35mm pole mount, ten M10 rigging points for suspension (either via forged shoulder eyebolts or using the optional FC-81 flying cradle), a flush handle and dual Neutrik Speakon™ NL4 connectors. The enclosure is finished in black semi-matt textured paint (colours optional) and the front is protected by an acoustic foam/expanded steel mesh grille. The enclosure is also available as the EMS-81i installation version (fitted with a single NL4MP connector and a 4-way barrier strip) and the EMS-81v 100V line version.
